Cam’ron, Jim Jones Release Kanye Diss Track

Cam’ron and Jim Jones have released their new song “Toast,” a diss track aimed at rapper/producer Kanye West over Kanye’s “Runaway” instrumental. The Harlem emcees are getting at Kanye over his own beat!

While the group’s relationship with Kanye appears to have deteriorated, The Diplomats have had a generally favorable history with the Chicago emcee. Cam’ron was featured on the track “Gone” on Kanye’s Late Registration, and Kanye appeared on “Down and Out,” a track on Cam’s Purple Haze album. West also executive produced The Diplomats’ critically and commercially successful debut album Diplomatic Immunity.

The reason for the current beef is unclear, but it may stem from the 2005 break up of Roc-a-Fella Records in which Dipset stayed with Dame Dash and Kanye chose to stay with Jay Z, despite the fact that he had been signed by Dame.

Cam also stated that Dipset has “eight or nine songs done” for their new album.
