New York emcee Talib Kweli has announced that he is putting the finishing touches on his new solo LP Gutter Rainbows, the long awaited follow up to 2007’s Eardrum. (Kweli says the new title comes from the book “The Catcher In The Rye”).
Talib also revealed some of the producers that worked on the album, including frequent Kweli collaborator HiTek, SkiBeatz, and S1, who recently produced Kanye’s single “Power.” No release date for the album has been set.
Talib’s first solo LP, Eardrum, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling 60,000 copies in it’s first week, making it his highest debuting album thus far. Kweli recently released Revolutions Per Minute in May, a collaboration album with HiTek.
