Mixtape Mondays – Joe Budden Are You In That Mood Yet

By Matt Frank

New Jersey’s own Joe Budden dropped his latest mixtape Are You In That Mood Yet on Saturday. Known for his gritty style and clever rhymes, Budden has formed supergroup Slaughterhouse consisting of fellow emcees Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5’9, and Crooked I, with Ortiz and Royce making appearances on this mixtape.

It’s always important to set off a mixtape with a hot first track and Budden does just that with “Something to Ride To.” Budden links up with rap legend Bun B on “Nobody Fucking With Us” and disses rap legend Method Man on “D.O.A. Freestyle.” Lately it seems like no mixtape has been without a “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” remix and Budden comes through with his remix, “New York, Jersey, Philly.” Budden wraps it up with a remix of Red Cafe’s “Hottest In Da Hood” and the bonus track “Better Me.” Jersey Joe has dropped better mixtapes but Are You In That Mood Yet is certainly worth a listen.
