Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Son Talks Sixth Anniversary of Father’s Death

Six years ago, we lost a young promising emcee in Russel Jones (Ol’ Dirty Bastard). ODB passed away due to an accidental drug overdose on November 13, 2004, leaving behind a legacy as a solo artist and leader of NY supergroup Wu-Tang Clan.

MTV had the chance to speak with Boy Jones, the son of Ol’ Dirty.

“It’s good to get family together,” he said. “We wish we could do that more throughout the year…but it’s still beautiful on days like this…[Ol’ Dirty Bastard] was a person that was trying to change the world, and he had a different view but nobody really understood it. If he would have had just a little more time I think it would have happened. We all for the people. We all here for change.”

Watch Boy Jones talk about his father’s legacy.
